Adiós Baja

And so a long journey home begins. 22hrs on a bus ride to Tijuana. Back in to the USA and straight back to LA for a couple of days before flying home...Bike to box up and even do some proper washing

But why? Well, I've not missed the batshit-politically-crazy-cold-wet country that is England, despite loving it. I have definitely missed family and friends and look forward to seeing as many as possible, in a short space of time...The reason is that I've just not found what I'm looking for in Mexico, too much solace, no fun, the landscape has become too tiresome and finding it hard to sustain myself. Another tortilla based meal may tip me over the edge. I nearly cried with joy when I found fresh chicken soup that reminded me of South East Asia...

And that's why I'll be seeing as many people as possible in a short space of time. I love South East Asia and have just craved everything about it for about 10 days. So, I'm coming back, replanning and getting on a aeroplane to a place that I know, enjoy, love and can keep myself fed on foods other then tacos, burritos, Cheetos and cookies. Even just some tofu and veg with rice would be lovely. I've barely found fruit or veg.

So if you're around over the next few weeks, I hope I'll get to see as many of you as possible. Toodle-pip

Where Is Marv?

It's been a while since I posted. My mind has been elsewhere.

Things haven't been right for a few days and it's fair to say that I've run out of steam for Baja. I came here looking for something but can't find it.

Rather than press on riding, I've taken buses down to La Paz, the end goal for Baja, so I can work out next steps.

Many things aren't sitting right with me, so my plan is to return to the UK and replan the bike adventure in SE Asia, an area that I am familiar with and love. I can almost taste the green curry and the noodle soups - the two things I've been craving. I'm not sure I can face another taco right now, which is a sad thing.

I'll leave Baja happy that I tried and failed. I can certainly say that the people of Baja have been very lovely.

If I return, it'll be in an off-road vehicle with an engine
